What a strategy session is
A lead generation strategy session is a working session where we look at where your leads come from today, where the gaps are, and what to add first. You leave with a plan you can act on, whether you work with us afterward or not.
It's built for contractors who know they need more inbound leads and want a plan before spending a dollar. It's a working meeting, not a sales presentation.
Many contractors come in with a feeling and not much data. Leads seem to come in waves. Referrals have slowed, or an ad agency promised a lot and delivered little. The session turns that feeling into a clear picture: here's where your business actually gets found, here's where it doesn't, and here's what to try first.
We work through it with you, on your numbers, not from a template. The answers are different for a roofer in a crowded metro than for an excavator in a smaller market, and we treat them that way.
What we map
We start with how your calls and jobs come in now. Referrals? Google Maps? Your website? Ads? Many contractors can't say, and that alone is useful to learn. Then we look at the whole path from search to booked job. A lead can leak at any step: the homeowner never finds you, finds you but doesn't trust the site, or calls and nobody answers.
Finding where the leak is, before spending, is the main value of the session. Money spent on ads can't fix a problem that sits in the phone process. Money spent on a new site can't fix a Google profile nobody can find. We aim to put effort where it actually moves jobs.
Channels
We look at the main ways homeowners find contractors: the map pack, organic search, AI answers, paid search, and referrals. We note where you show up in maps and AI search and where you don't.
Tracking
We check how well you can see what's working. Can you tell which calls came from which source? If not, fixing that comes early, because without tracking every channel is a guess. Our call tracking and lead reporting page explains how we handle it.
Your next 90 days
The session ends with recommended first moves, organized into the next 90 days of actions. Not a year of wishes, but a short list: what to do first, what comes after, and what to leave alone.
Examples of what might land on the list include cleaning up a Google profile, adding service pages that don't exist yet, setting up call tracking, or testing a small paid search budget. What actually lands on your list depends on your market and your numbers. We don't promise outcomes, because anyone who promises a lead count before looking at your market is guessing.
Each action on the list has a reason attached. If we suggest fixing your Google profile first, you'll know why that comes before a new service page. If we suggest waiting on ads, you'll know what has to be in place before they'd pay off. You can take the list to your own team, hand it to another provider, or ask us to carry it out.
The territory check
Part of the session is a territory check for your trade and market. We partner with 15 contractors total, with only one per trade per market, and never two in the same trade whose markets overlap. So we look at whether your market is open.
If it isn't, we tell you early. You can still use what you learn in the session. If it is open, you'll know before anything else is discussed.
How to book, and what it costs
Start with the free discovery call through our contact page. On that call, we explain what a strategy session covers and what it costs before you commit. We don't quote a price here, because the right scope depends on your business.
For a sense of what services cost once you have a plan, our pricing page lists the real figures.
Who it's for, and who it isn't
It's for home service contractors doing $300K or more a year who rely on referrals and want a steadier flow of inbound leads. It also helps if you've been burned by an agency and want a second opinion on what's worth buying.
It's not for someone who wants us to promise a lead number. It's also not much use if you're not ready to act. A plan on a shelf doesn't produce jobs.
To get the most from the session, bring a few things. Know roughly where your last handful of jobs came from. Have your Google profile and website open. Be ready to say which jobs you want more of. The more real your numbers, the more useful the plan.
And be ready for a plain answer. If your best next move is a free fix, like asking happy customers for reviews, we'll say so. Not every plan needs a monthly fee attached.
How it fits with the rest of our work
A session pairs well with premium positioning strategy, which focuses on how you present yourself. If you want to see where AI tools stand on your business before the session, the AI visibility gap report is a useful starting point.
If the plan calls for more help, we'll tell you which of our services fit and which don't. If it doesn't, we'll say that too. The point is that you know your next step. Our lead generation strategies page describes what ongoing channel work looks like when you're ready for it.
