Marketing strategy for home service contractors
Marketing strategy for a home service contractor means one thing: deciding what to build first, and what to skip. We look at your market, your website, and where your leads come from today. Then we tell you the order that makes sense for your business.
Fierce Island is run by Jared and Rachelle Nelson in Boise, Idaho, and we work with contractors nationwide. You talk to the two people who do the work. There are no account managers and no outsourcing.
We offer two strategy services. One is about how you position yourself. The other is about where your next jobs come from. You can start with either one.
What a strategy engagement is for
Many contractors come to us with a feeling more than a plan. Leads seem to come in waves. Referrals have slowed. Marketing money went out and nobody could say what it bought. A strategy engagement turns that feeling into a short list of clear next steps.
Think of it as a map with a few routes on it. For each route we name what it costs, what it needs from you, and how we would measure it. Then you pick which routes to open first, and in what order.
It is not a pitch for the biggest package. If the best next move is something small, like asking happy customers for reviews, we will say so. If a channel does not fit your trade or your market yet, we will say that too, even if it means a smaller job for us.
- You get a plain picture of where your business gets found today, and where it does not.
- You get a priority order, so you spend on the right thing first.
- You get a list of what to skip for now, which saves money.
- You can take the plan to your own team, hand it to another company, or ask us to carry it out.
Two ways to start
Pick the one that matches your problem. If your work is great but your marketing sounds like everyone else's, start with positioning. If you need more calls and do not know where to add effort, start with the lead generation session.
Position yourself as the premium choice
Premium positioning strategy is for contractors who do excellent work and feel the marketing does not say so. We review your market and your competitors, define what makes you the best choice, and line up your website, reviews, visibility, and ads around it.
We use the Premium Positioning Framework. It has four parts: Authority Engine (your website), Proof Stack (reviews), Visibility Blitz (search and AI visibility), and Demand Capture (paid search). Each part has a job, and the review tells you which one to work on first.
Find where your next jobs come from
A lead generation strategy session is a working session on your leads. We look at where your calls come from today, where you show up in maps and AI search, and where the gaps are. You leave with recommended first moves.
The session also includes a territory check for your trade and market, so you know early whether your market is open to us.
Who it fits
Strategy fits contractors who want a plan before they spend. It fits owners who rely on referrals and want a steadier flow of inbound leads. It also fits contractors who spent on marketing before and want a second opinion on what is worth buying.
It is a poor fit if you want us to promise a number of leads. Nobody can promise that before looking at your market, and anyone who does is guessing. It is also a poor fit if you are not ready to act on the plan.
How strategy leads into the growth services
The plan is yours whether you work with us afterward or not. If it makes sense to keep going, the parts of the framework map to services we already run.
- Authority Engine: your website. If it needs a rebuild, that is our web design work. If it is already solid, we build on it.
- Proof Stack: reviews and your Google profile, which sit under our marketing for home service contractors services.
- Visibility Blitz: SEO/AEO and GEO, which sit under our SEO, AEO, GEO, and PPC services.
- Demand Capture: Google Ads and Local Services Ads, also under the internet marketing hub.
What it costs and how to start
We do not post a price for strategy work. The right scope depends on your business, so we explain what a session or review covers and what it costs on the free discovery call, before you commit. You can get in touch to set that up.
Our growth services do have posted prices, and the pricing page lists them. They are for home service contractors doing $300K or more a year. We partner with 15 contractors in total, one per trade per market, and never two in the same trade whose markets overlap.
