GEO for contractors
Generative engine optimization for the AI answers homeowners read.
GEO is generative engine optimization. We test hundreds of queries across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Claude, and Perplexity to map where you are recommended and where you are not, then build the trust signals those engines use.
Growth marketing is for home service contractors doing $300K+ a year. We partner with 15 contractors total, and only one per trade per market.
What's included
- Query testing across AI engines
- A share-of-voice report against your competitors

- Fixes ranked by impact
Who it's for
Contractors who want to know exactly how AI tools see their business today.
What generative engine optimization is
Generative engine optimization, or GEO, is the work of earning recommendations from AI tools that write their own answers: ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Claude, and Perplexity. Where search gives a list, these tools give a reply. GEO is about being in that reply for the right questions in your market.
The key difference is that you can't just publish a page and wait. Generative tools weigh what they read about you in many places. GEO looks at all of those places, not only your site.
Here's why that matters to a contractor. A homeowner planning a big job, like a roof, a pool, or a full exterior, may ask an AI tool for a short list of companies to call. They might ask it a few different ways over a few days. If you show up in some of those answers and not others, you're being left to chance. GEO tries to replace chance with a clear picture of where you stand and a plan to improve it.
How GEO differs from AEO and SEO
The three disciplines overlap, and we run them together. Each one asks a different question, though.
SEO asks: can you rank?
Classic SEO is about position in a list of links on Google. It rewards clear pages, good structure, and links from trusted sites.
AEO asks: can you be the answer?
AEO structures your own content, with questions, direct answers, and schema, so an engine can lift a clean answer from it.
GEO asks: do the engines recommend you across the board?
GEO looks at the whole picture. Which engines mention you, for which questions, and which competitors show up instead? It then builds the trust signals those engines lean on, far beyond a single page.
Where AI models learn about a business
A model doesn't visit your shop. It reads what exists about you: your website, your Google listing, your reviews, mentions on other sites, and directories. When those sources agree, the model is more confident. When they disagree or are thin, it may skip you or name someone else.
That's why GEO leans on trust signals: reviews, mentions, and consistent business facts. A contractor with plenty of recent reviews and the same details everywhere has more for an engine to cite. This is also why our reputation management service connects to GEO. Reviews are part of what engines read.
Different engines also lean on different sources. One may favor what it finds in search results. Another may weigh review sites and directories more heavily. That's one reason we test across all five engines instead of just one. A contractor can look strong in one tool and be missing in another, and the fix for each gap isn't always the same.
In plain terms, GEO is reputation work for the AI era. It asks what the internet says about your company, whether those facts agree with each other, and whether a machine reading them would feel confident naming you.
How we run GEO
The process is built around testing, not guessing:
- We test hundreds of queries across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Claude, and Perplexity
- We map where you're recommended and where you aren't
- We build a share-of-voice report that compares you with your competitors
- We rank the fixes by impact, so the biggest gaps get work first
- We build the trust signals engines rely on, then test again
A real result
Here's the proof we share. Idaho Seamless Gutter went from 1.5% to 66.2% visibility on Perplexity, and from 3.1% to 36.9% on Gemini, in a single month. That's one client in one market, and your results will depend on your trade, your competition, and where you start. You can see more on the gutters industry page.
We share it because it shows what the testing is built to measure. Before the work, a business can be barely mentioned. After it, the same questions can return the business much more often. The numbers come from asking the engines directly, not from guessing.
What it costs
GEO is part of SEO/AEO + GEO at $1,500 per month plus a $499 setup. Monthly services are month to month, and a Sonar Analytics report comes with the work. Details are on the pricing page.
Because the engines change and competitors keep working, GEO is ongoing, not a one-time purchase. The monthly report shows what moved, what didn't, and what to fix next. You're paying for the testing and the follow-through, and you can read the results yourself.
Who it fits, and a few cautions
GEO suits home service contractors doing $300K or more a year who want to know exactly how AI tools see their business today. We work with 15 contractors total, one per trade per market, and we never take two in the same trade with overlapping markets.
A few cautions. AI answers change, so one test proves little. No one controls what a model says. And GEO can't fix a business with no proof behind it. If you'd like to see where you stand first, the AI visibility gap report is a good place to start.
One more caution: GEO is not a trick. You can't flood the web with fake mentions and expect engines to keep believing them. The work that holds up is the plain kind. Be a real company with real reviews, say the same true things everywhere, and make it easy for a machine to verify them. If that sounds like good business practice, it is.
